Founded
in 2003, the Académie Européenne de Musique (AEM)
embraces,
among its principal aims, the mission to develop musical practice
among young European musicians through pre-professional training
courses and master classes organised during the summer period. Since
its creation the Académie Européenne de Musique has
organised an annual series
of master classes, public auditions and concerts in
July with the collaboration of a number of eminent soloists and
teachers.
Based in an ideal location for cultural and musical exchanges, the Académie has already trained 110 young musicians from Belgium, France, Ireland, Spain and Germany.
The main objective of “Académie Européenne de Musique” is to help prepare young European musicians for their entry into the professional world of music. This will be achieved through the exchange and shared experience of the teaching and musical practices of each country.
These activities will be open to young members of all EU countries with the aim of:
-Facilitating a multicultural professional training for young musicians of the EU through master classes with professional European musicians
-Promoting inter-European exchange in teaching methods
-Promoting the mobility of young musicians, teachers and artists within Europe
Through its work, the Académie Européenne de Musique (AEM) wishes to promote and establish partnerships with European co-organisers.
In the long term, the constitution of a network of academies in various EU countries will bring an obvious cultural enrichment to the students through the diversity and depth of their exchanges.
The multiplicity of the participating European countries, professional musicians, teachers and students, as well as the diversity of individual and ensemble musical practices discovered and experienced, will all combine to create a true European musical identity.
