Constantin Serban was born in Tirgoviste ( Romania) in 1956. He began to play the violin at the age of five .
In 1963 he went on to study at the Bucharest Musical School. He finished his studies there with Anisia Deveselu in 1973 with the best marks . He joined then Bucharest Musical Academy , and studied with Stefan Gheorghiu, a former pupil of David Oistrakh.
In 1979 he was awarded his final diploma with best marks.
During his studies, Constantin Serban took part in many national and international competitions. He won many prizes, the main ones being at the national Romanian festival ( first prize), the Competition of Romanian music execution in 1977( first prize), and at the international Tibor Varga competition in 1979 ( 2nd prize and the special jury prize for the contemporary piece).
He got into the Bucharest "George Enesco" Philharmonic Orchestra in 1979 and left Romania in 1981 .He joined the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra for a short while. Since 1982 he is violin leader at the National Orchestra of Pays de la Loire(ONPL).
In the meantime, he plays as a soloist and as a chamber musician and has been saluted by the media in France, Romania, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland....
From 1984 he is teaching in the Nantes music Conservatoire and holds master classes in France , Romania, Germany, Ireland. He has been asked for national and international juries at the National Conservatoire of Paris ( CNSM)., « Jeunesses Musicales » in Bucarest.
Constantin Serban's former students play now in famous orchestra such as Wiener Philharmoniker, London Symphony Orchestra, Barcelona Liceo Orchestra, Lille National Orchestra, Seville Philharmonic Orchestra , Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire......
